Charlie knew his companion all too well. Peggy didn't need an explanation. She could take what little information he had already given her and figure out the rest. For all her obvious faults, Peggy was a pragmatist and a survivor. She understood things like this. |

"What you're really saying is the name of the game is to be nice to brother Theodore, right?" |

"Right," Charlie said. "The stakes are high. I've waited a long time for this. I don't intend to blow it now." |

Peggy curled her long slender fingers around the upper part of his arm and inched her way toward him on the front seat. When she was satisfied that the momentary intoxication of her perfume had properly titillated his libido, she slid her other hand across his thigh and down to his crotch. "Tell me," she said huskily, "which excites you more, Charlie Frazier. The thought of what I can do with this, or the little scheme you've got planned for brother Theodore?" |
